Lavender Lemonade Spritz (Printable)

Floral lavender syrup mixed with zesty lemonade and sparkling wine, ideal for warm days.

# What You Need:

→ Lavender Syrup

01 - 1/2 cup water
02 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender

→ Lemonade

04 - 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 4 lemons)
05 - 1/2 cup cold water
06 - 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup

→ For Serving

07 - 1 cup ice cubes
08 - 1 1/2 cups chilled sparkling wine or prosecco
09 - Lemon slices for garnish
10 - Fresh lavender sprigs for garnish

# Directions:

01 - In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and dried culinary lavender. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat, cover, and allow to steep for 10 minutes. Strain through fine mesh to remove lavender solids and let syrup cool to room temperature.
02 - In a pitcher, combine freshly squeezed lemon juice, cold water, and honey or agave syrup. Stir thoroughly until honey is fully dissolved and ingredients are well incorporated.
03 - Fill four glasses with ice cubes. Add 2 tablespoons cooled lavender syrup and 1/4 cup lemonade base to each glass.
04 - Top each glass with approximately 1/3 cup chilled sparkling wine or prosecco. Stir gently to combine all components.
05 - Garnish each glass with lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs. Serve immediately while properly chilled.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The lavender syrup tastes sophisticated but takes just ten minutes to make, so you're not fussing in the kitchen on a hot day.
  • It's endlessly flexible whether you want to pour wine into it or skip that part entirely and serve it to everyone at the table.
  • Once you realize how simple homemade syrup is, you'll find yourself making it for everything.
02 -
  • Never use non-culinary lavender—craft store varieties are often treated and will taste like perfume, which ruins the whole thing.
  • Make the syrup ahead of time and refrigerate it; trying to use warm syrup in a cold drink either dilutes everything or takes forever to chill.
03 -
  • Chill your glasses in the freezer for five minutes before serving—condensation on the outside and perfect coldness inside makes everything taste better.
  • If you're serving this to a crowd, mix the lemonade and syrup in advance, but add sparkling wine to individual glasses right before serving so it stays properly effervescent.
