This is one of my favorite quick appetizers to prepare when guests arrive, and it always gets compliments for its beautiful presentation.

Ingredients

  • Meats: 8-10 slices of salami (about 50 g)
  • Cheeses: 30 g brie cheese sliced, 30 g aged cheddar cubed
  • Fruits: 5-6 seedless grapes, 3-4 fresh strawberries halved
  • Nuts & Accompaniments: 15 g roasted almonds, 1 tablespoon fig jam or honey, 4-5 gluten-free crackers (optional)
  • Garnish: Fresh herbs (e.g. rosemary or thyme sprigs)

Instructions

Create the salami rose:
Fold each salami slice in half and layer them overlapping around the rim of a small shot glass or wine glass Once all slices are layered invert the glass onto your serving board and gently lift to reveal the rose
Arrange the cheeses:
Place brie slices and cheddar cubes beside the salami rose
Add fruits:
Scatter grapes and halved strawberries attractively around the board
Add accompaniments:
Fill in gaps with roasted almonds a dollop of fig jam or honey and gluten-free crackers if using
Garnish:
With fresh herbs for a touch of color and aroma
